Summer, Summer, Summertime!

May has been MOLTEN HOT Randy Jackson style with new music
(and some overflow from April)
Where to start? I'm sorry I haven't been logging in lately....May was busy!
(in NO particular order!)

Madonna ft. Justin Timberlake - 4 Minutes (that's right....this song will get me on the dancefloor)

My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges - (they're experimenting a little but me likey)

Phantom Planet - Do the Panic - (Caaaaaliiiifoooorniaaaa it's not - Jason Schwartzman is gone but they keep on....)

M83 - Graveyard Girl - (this song is their most digestible ever - for you!)

N.E.R.D. - Everybody Nose - ("all the girls standing in the line for the bathroom..." Pharell will get you moving...)

Flight of the Conchords - Ladies of the World - (any song that shouts out to Presbyterian ladies and calls all soldiers to put down their weapons and pick up a woman is awesome - "sweet 16 not M-16, brunettes not fighter jets...." - the funny boys of HBO have a full album, now)

The Last Shadow Puppets - Standing Next to Me (Alex Turner's Arctic Monkeys side project is finally released)

The Ting Tings - Shut Up and Let Me Go - (I liked "Great DJ" better, but this is the song that Apple chose for their iPOD mess - so whatevs...they're both great songs)

James Pants - Finger On the Knife (wacky rump shaking from Portland or Seattle - I think?)

The Black Ghosts - Anyway You Choose to Give It (remix) - more shake shake shake - it's one of those summers....

Coldplay - Violet Hill (thank goodness - it's not another speed of sound....)

Nine Inch Nails - Discipline (I know, I know - no one really digs this action, but Trent is GIVING the whole new album- The Slip - away for nothing on his site - much like M83, NIN has never gone down SO smooth)

The Hold Steady - Sequestered In Memphis (they were at the Hi-Tone with the Thermals last spring 500 yrds away from our place writing this song - Lucero is duetting on this one, so Memphians salivate - I could care less about Lucero (sorry, Gasp!) - THS is sounding less like the 'mats and more like old Wilco on this one.....)

Mates of State - My Only Offer - (whit and I's favorite husband/wife duo bring it on home)

Jeremy Jay - Airwalker - (the boy is channeling Lou Reed)

Beck - Chemtrails (Beck with Danger Mouse? don't tease - trippy stuff here, but I expect a full eruption on the album, Modern Guilt, later this year)

------------------------------------

In case you still haven't checked these out (you still need to....then on to the Molten hotness) :

The Black Keys - Attack & Release - this album is great - blues group goes Danger Mouse what a combo (Download - Strange Times)
The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely - Nashville boys, now. give em the respect! (Download - Salute Your Solution)
Spoon - Girls Can Tell (reissue) - see where it all began - their breakout album is back (Download - Anything You Want)
We Are Scientists - Brain Thrust Mastery - the album is not up to par but this song is (Download - Lethal Enforcer)
Someone, Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - Pershing - I still like these power poppers (Download - Glue Girls)
The Kooks - KONK - do0, doo d d d d d d doo doo (Download - Always Where I Need To Be)
Foals - Antidotes - love these guys but maybe not everyone's speed (Download - Balloons)
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular (last year but still gaining steam..... (Download - Time to Pretend or Kids)
Vampire Weekend - S/T - If you haven't bought (yes, bought) this yet......cut your face off!!!!!! You obviously don't like music.....

more to come, kiddos! 2008!!!!!! Don't Stop!

(just cut and paste any of these into YouTube, and you can check em out)

Madonna ft. Justin Timberlake - 4 Minutes (that's right....this song will get me on the dancefloor)

(you are gay. that song should be titled ... "only got 4 minutes to waste")

My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges - (they're experimenting a little but me likey)

(awesome, kudos)

Phantom Planet - Do the Panic - (Caaaaaliiiifoooorniaaaa it's not - Jason Schwartzman is gone but they keep on....)

M83 - Graveyard Girl - (this song is their most digestible ever - for you!)

N.E.R.D. - Everybody Nose - ("all the girls standing in the line for the bathroom..." Pharell will get you moving...)

("she likes to move" me too)

Flight of the Conchords - Ladies of the World - (any song that shouts out to Presbyterian ladies and calls all soldiers to put down their weapons and pick up a woman is awesome - "sweet 16 not M-16, brunettes not fighter jets...." -
the funny boys of HBO have a full album, now)

(It's business time)

The Last Shadow Puppets - Standing Next to Me (Alex Turner's Arctic Monkeys side project is finally released)

(Arctic Monkeys are pure noise, but catchy)

The Ting Tings - Shut Up and Let Me Go - (I liked "Great DJ" better, but this is the song that Apple chose for their iPOD mess - so whatevs...they're both great songs)

(Agreed, "Great Dj" is better)

James Pants - Finger On the Knife (wacky rump shaking from Portland or Seattle - I think?)

The Black Ghosts - Anyway You Choose to Give It (remix) - more shake shake shake - it's one of those summers....

(good)

Coldplay - Violet Hill (thank goodness - it's not another speed of sound....)

(agreed "speed of sound" ... not a fan)

Nine Inch Nails - Discipline (I know, I know - no one really digs this action, but Trent is GIVING the whole new album- The Slip - away for nothing on his site - much like M83, NIN has never gone down SO smooth)

(so smooth it "hurt"s ... now whiskey rocker shooter jennings and I love some NIN .. so dark)

(good stuff - not as depressing as expected considering it came from the depths of the delta)

Mates of State - My Only Offer - (whit and I's favorite husband/wife duo bring it on home)

(love it)

Jeremy Jay - Airwalker - (the boy is channeling Lou Reed)

(no comment, severin)

Beck - Chemtrails (Beck with Danger Mouse? don't tease - trippy stuff here, but I expect a full eruption on the album, Modern Guilt, later this year)

(Chemtrails are the biggest threat to humanity ... wiki it)
